This design assignment required us to pick a name for an fake pop-up restaurant, create a style tile (above) for online branding the choice of two logos for the company. I ran with ‘The Spice Bowl’ – a vegan Indian eatery specialising in vibrant, fresh, simple meals with mass appeal.
The first logo denotes a series of stacked bowls to emphasise group dining: casually stacked, they are ready to serve and share. The colour palette picks up on the bright Indian colours shown in the Style Tile while the uncomplicated font reflects a relaxed and easy style of eatery.
The second logo is has a fresh and easy sans-serif font to reflect the modern take on an Indian menu. Again the colour palette reflects the bright hues of India. This logo plays on the use of spices with the colourful spread of spices across a surface. The mortar and pestle icon underlines the idea of grinding spices and freshly produced flavors.
